Greetings, fellow humans! My name, if you haven't already guessed, is Laura Holmes. I am a tattoo artist at Artistic Impressions in the Niagara region. I started summer 2017 and am quickly working my way to the top!

I made this site to display my tattoos and artwork on my own site, mainly for those you don't follow me on social media. If you wish to see my Instagram or Facebook profile, just click the icons under the header.

I am currently booking tattoo appointments so contact me to talk about a design!

I hope you enjoy the site I created and I hope to receive positive feedback from you! Don't forget to click the Facebook Like button and follow me on Instagram and Twitter!

Thank you!

Biography

___________________________________________________________________

I was born and raised in Fonthill, Ontario, a small, quaint little town near Niagara Falls, Canada. When I was around the age of ten, I remember thinking about my future and wondering what career I could have. I made a list of the top three jobs, that I knew of, that could make lots of money; Lawyer, Famous Actress, and Architect. Since I didn't want to be a lawyer, and had very little chance of being a famous actress, (and Princess wasn't going to happen), I decided I'd be an architect. Well, that was easy! Or so I thought.

My whole life, I grew up doing crafts and was always naturally artistic, and apparently was very skilled at cutting out tiny pieces of paper with scissors at the age of three! My parents supported my interest in Architecture, and gave me my first architectural program; Punch! Professional Home Design Suite when I was twelve. I loved it and was very involved in it for years. Eventually, high school came around and I realised I wasn't great at math or the technical aspects of architecture (even though I got a Math Scholarship at graduation, photo below to the right). I found myself just wanting to do the artsy parts of it all. With some help from my mom, I pursued a slightly different course; Interior Design. I was then motivated to finish high school and become a designer.

But, after about 2.5 years of college life, I did a full 180. No longer invested in learning about interior design, I dropped out to find myself. After a bad jet ski accident that left me in the hospital for months with 2 broken wrists, a broken pelvis, and fractures in my pelvis, tailbone, and forearms, I almost immediately started trying to draw again, despite the pain. Drawing most of the time I had there, I realized that's what made me happy. Someone a few years back suggested that I get into tattooing, so I decided that is exactly what I should do.

Now, I have my own booth in the golden horseshoe of Ontario, at the amazing Artistic Impressions. I can live my dream of drawing everyday and make a living from it!

As for my talents, I am extremely artistic, detail oriented, have an eye for colour, crafty, and am a very fast learner when it comes to my interests. I am definitely a perfectionist, which affects every project that I do, usually for the better. When I was younger, I filled my days with crafts, drawing, and writing fictional tales. Now, on top of Do-It-Yourself projects, I still love painting and drawing, and especially love my hobby, designing and keeping aquariums. I find that planning the layout of aquariums is an art form, and is very important to ensure both beauty and functionality in the space. This kind of thinking is also vital when it comes to space planning and interior design layout. Now I apply what I've learned to tattooing on a daily basis!

This is me at graduation earning a scholarship for the highest mark my applied math class.
